Chitika Trends Point to You Making More Income

Technorati Profile
by: Will Hanke

The need for an AdSense alternative continues to grow. Soon Yahoo will be releasing their YPN to the general publishing world, and word is MSN also has something in the works. Until recently, there hasn't really been a decent alternative to AdSense.

Onto the stage rushes Chitika - a great looking PPC advertising opportunity that delivers small pictures and a nice tabbed ad, delivering 4 or five times the information that one AdSense ad delivers. This content can be keyword targeted, giving you even greater control over your ads.

Recently Chitika started offering alternate ads, which allow you to show whatever ad you want to someone on your site that is not approved in the Chitika system to click. This means that if someone from a third-world country visits your site, and they are not on Chitika's authorized country list, they won't see your ads. This is good because, if they saw and clicked your ad, you wouldn't get paid for it anyway. So it's better to just put an alternative ad, such as an ad from Commission Junction or something that has the potential to still pay you.

As Chitika continues to grow, and their userbase steadily increases, the need for quick information grows as well. Recently Joel Comm (of AdSense 'fame') released a new book, Chitika Secrets. The book, available at Chitika-Secrets.com, is a tell-all packed with great tips and ideas for any web publisher. If you are a website publisher, and are looking for a quick way to ramp-up on all of the best Chitika secrets, this is the ebook for you.

New websites such as Chitika-Chat.com are popping up across the 'net. Users are beginning to collaborate on ideas and tips that will help shape the future of online advertising.

Are you signed up for Chitika? If you are an AdSense publisher (or not!), you should consider other revenue streams like Chitika.

Using The New Chitika eMiniMalls To Make Money Online

by: Lee MacRae

A lot of website owners are constantly on the lookout for ways to make money off their website traffic. Google Adsense is the main moneymaker for most. Others are trying the new Yahoo! Publisher Network.

One of the more interesting newcomers to the market is the Chitika eMiniMalls.

Chitika eMiniMalls are very easy to use and very easy to set up. Once you are accepted into the program you will use an area in your account that creates the eMiniMalls Code for your website. You can specify custom colors for your border, your title, your text and your background. You have 10 different ad formats to choose from. Once your code is generated you simply copy and paste it into your website where you want the Chitika ads to appear. Voila! You are in business with Chitika eMiniMalls.

Now, here is where it gets interesting. With Google Adsense you primarily have text ads on your website that are based on the context or content of the web page. Primarily you have the same setup with your Chitika eMiniMalls. BUT [unlike Adsense] you can modify your Chitika code to include specific keywords or specific products! Just think of all the hot topics there are and the keywords that go with them...Xbox 360, Blackberry, Sony Plasma television, Garmin GPS, iPod Accessory, Windows pocket pc. All you need to do is go to the main Chitika website and use the typical Chitika ad you see on the Chitika home page. Use the search function to type in those keywords you are thinking about using and see what product pops up. Testing is very important here to ensure there is a specific product you can call up, otherwise the ad engine will have to throw in some random gadget that might not fit your content.

Imagine the possibilities! With Chitika eMiniMalls you can be very specific as to the type of product you call up and be sure it fits in with the content of your page.

And here is where Chitika eMiniMalls can really shine. You actually can create small cyberspace mini malls that are product specific to each website or even each page within a website. The tabs on each Chitika ad can give your visitors the opportunity to find product descriptions, best deals, product ratings and even reviews on items they are shopping for. As your visitors comparison shop -and click on the ads- you get paid!

Chitika eMiniMalls should work especially well on product based websites and Blogs. You can even use Chitika along with Adsense on your site or blog but make sure you understand what Google requires of you. eMiniMalls default mode is contextual based like Adsense - the ads are based on the content of your site - but you have to use the keywords with Chitika eMiniMalls and not the default mode in order to continue to use them with Adsense. Keep up to date with the requirements of each program and you should be fine.

With 1000 channels to monitor your ads and the opportunity to fine tune the ads to fit your page content by yourself rather than relying on the internal ad engine, Chitika gives you some very interesting ways to control your own destiney -at least in cyberspace!

If you want to make some money online, give Chitika eMiniMalls a try.

Pixel Advertising

What's the latest way to promote your website? Pixel advertising!

A uni student in the UK, Alex Tew, decided he wanted to fund his way through university. So he came up with the idea of selling pixels via his website http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/

No-one could have predicted the amazing results. Within the last month he has sold over $250,000 worth of pixels!

The rationale is actually quite sensible and relies on a catchy idea and viral marketing.

The goal of marketing is to get your product in front of as many eyeballs as possible. The Million Dollar Homepage succeeds at this admirably. People see the website and are so amazed at how ridiculous it is that they tell their friends about it either through online forums or email. The meme spreads and soon enough, the site is receiving a huge amount of traffic.

Now a virtuous circle ensues. Because the site is getting lots of traffic it makes the pixels even more valuable. Pay $100 for a square of pixels and you'll instantly have your ad in front of many people. Thus more pixels are sold which leads to more amazement at how successful the site is which leads to even more publicity. And so it goes.

Anything successful is bound to have imitators and this case is no exception. Many other websites have sprung up selling pixels at different rates.

One interesting imitator http://www.mostexpensivepixelontheinternet.com/ takes the idea to its logical conclusion. How much are people prepared to pay for a single pixel? The site is auctioning off a single pixel, thus letting the market decide.

Is it worth it to advertise on the Million Dollar Homepage? The case study available on the site seems to suggest it is.

Will it be long lasting or just a fad? At this point in time, it seems like pixel advertising is here to stay.

Inexpensive Tips For Getting Website Traffic

You can get a lot of website traffic without having to spend a lot of money. If you want to develop a busy and profitable website for your online business, there are a lot of techniques for getting website traffic without it being expensive. Some of these cheap website traffic techniques include article directories, SEO, blog posting and even forum posting.

Among these methods, one of the most practical and most effective is submitting articles to article directories. These articles should contain a link or two back to your own site, which can help you increase your site traffic from readers who may be interested in seeing more of what you’re offering. There are already several excellent article directories available for your submissions. As long as your articles remain in the directories you submitted them to, this method will be one of the best and cheapest ways to pull in traffic.

Using SEO, or search engine optimization, is another inexpensive yet very effective way for getting traffic to your website. By using proper search engine optimization, your articles and your website’s overall content will become more search engine friendly, as well as your website. Include your keyword in the domain name of the website that hosts your articles. Also include keywords in the first paragraphs of your pages, as well as the title of the page itself. These SEO techniques will help your site get better exposure with search engines, and your articles will rank higher on search results.

Blogging is now becoming more popular than ever before, and you should take full advantage of it. More and more online businessmen are using blogs to promote their products and services, and it just makes perfect sense to follow suit. There are several good blogging sites on the Internet that allow people to sign up and create a blogging account with them for free, such as Blogger or Wordpress. Create your blog and link your home page to it. Updating your blog regularly will allow it to become more relevant to search engines, and as a result, it will help to drive more traffic to your site. It would help a lot if your articles and posts contain the appropriate keywords.

Another inexpensive website traffic technique that you can use is to join and participate in forums. Finding a forum that is related to your website’s content is even better. You can then easily post discussions, answers, and even start threads that can be useful to other forum members. You can pull in traffic by making entertaining or informative posts, since you’ll develop a reputation for being an authority on certain subjects. And don’t forget to have a link to your site in your signature file or your member profile.

See? You can get a lot of website traffic without spending a lot of money, just by following these techniques. Remember, effective usage of relevant keywords in your posts and articles, proper SEO methods, article submissions, blogging, and forum posting can all become invaluable but inexpensive tools for driving traffic to your website.
